With regard to CFP registrations, the requirements described in the Product Category Rules (PCR) concerning the category of product analyzed are to be followed in the calculation of the carbon footprint, in addition to the those of ISO 14067.

PCRs are necessary to ensure uniformity of methodological approach to the performed studies and to allow comparability between CFP studies related to products of the same category. The PCRs must be developed in accordance with ISO/TS 14027: 2017 and be recognized within the CFI Programme Operator, with the support of the Scientific Technical Committee (see Organisational structure)

The CFI Programme Operator can implement collaboration agreements with other Programme Operators, in order to fully extend the mutual recognition of mutual PCR.

The PCR development process is described in the “CFI PCR development” procedure, which will soon be available for download in the dedicated section of the website.
