What is the Carbon Footprint of Product?

The Carbon Footprint of Product (CFP) is the quantification of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions calculated on the basis of the methodology of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). In the counting are therefore considered the emissions related to the extraction and transformation of the raw material, as well as those related to production, transport, use and final disposal of the product.
Introducing the Carbon Footprint of Product means understanding which of these phases are most critical in terms of GHG emissions, making it possible to implement effective reduction interventions.
